One day a traveller came to a very poor village and asked for some food, but was told that there was no food to be had. He smiled and said that would not be a problem, as he had a stone that would create a wonderful soup, just by cooking the stone!
A pot full of water was brought and the traveller carefully took a wrapped package from his belongings. He then unwrapped a rather bland, large grey stone and placed it in the centre of the pot.

As the water heated, the traveller would taste the soup and say that it was cooking beautifully. At one point he says, “hmmmm, that’s delightful! It is truly heavenly as it is. However, if just a scrap of onion were added, it would be even better.”
The villagers realised that they had a few onion peelings and threw them in the pot with the stone.

After a few more minutes of sterling, smelling and tasting, the traveller said, “it’s just wonderful. We’re almost there. However, if there were just a few bits of carrot, how amazing that would be.” The villagers managed to locate a few bits of carrot and added them to the pot.
And so it went. The traveller would declare the soup to be delicious, but allowed that it would be even better with adding a bit of this or below that or a small ingredient here and there. A very short time, a frequent pot of soup was created, in a village whose people believe that they had no food.

What if you could wave a magic wand and all your limiting beliefs that stop you from having what you dream vanished like fog on a hot sunny day?

Well now you can. Here’s what you can do today. . .

  • 01

Become aware. Realise when you’re not engaged in any specific activity, your mind goes wandering. This is when you are most likely to relive your past mistakes or start to fear your future.

  • 02

Take a step back. Researchers call your wandering mind “The Default Network Mode.” As soon as you realise your mind is wandering, take a step back and begin observing.  Listen for the problems and your reactions.

  • 03

Feel your emotions. Most people run away from their emotions.  That’s never a good idea. If you take a moment to feel them – they will soon subside. if other negative emotions come up – feel them too until they go away.

  • 04

Change tracks. Imagine your mind is on a railway track heading for a dark tunnel. Up ahead is a signal box, all you have to do is flip the switch and change tracks. Go for a walk in nature and ask your mind to find practical solutions to your problems.

The Maria Morris no one knows (except you… after reading this.)

I always knew from aged thirteen I wanted to be an Occupation Therapist and help others heal.
So I worked hard and got a Degree equivalent in Occupational Therapy. I trained in Ergonomics and Vocational Rehabilitation, Ecotherapy, Anxiety and Stress Management plus Mindfulness.
Then later I trained to become an Advanced Practitioner Future Life Progression (visoneering).
My many high level clients include the MOD and the Royal Household. Both of which I have to have a high security clearance for.
I often get asked, “What do you do when you’re not working and helping people get rid of their anxiety?”
I tell them, as much as I love what I do for people I also enjoy time indulging in a few wonderful interests.
One of the things I like a lot is food, good food. And in West Dorset, (where I live) there’s loads of it.
I go there because I also enjoy cooking and the ingredients in those farm shops are the same as the top restaurants use around here.
One quote I like is, “I love food, I wouldn’t eat anything else.”
A favourite pastime of mine is visiting the farm shops in Dorset and Devon. They are all excellent, but I found one that sells real French food.
I could spend days in there if I was allowed.
Another thing I have a passion for is bargains. Especially when it comes to nice clothes. It’s such a joy to wear clothes I feel good in, it’s even better if I find them at a fraction of their original price.
There’s a top I often wear to work with the words, “I love vitamin sea.”
I also love plants. Although I haven’t got a garden where I live, I make up for it with various pot plants, trays, hanging baskets and Spanish Rings.
You should see them. I have enough coloured pots to make up a rainbow. All the neighbours have said how nice they look and how they brighten up the place.
(I haven’t told them I talk to my plants other wise they might think, well, you know.)
If you’ve taken a peek around my site I made for you, there are several photos Clive took.
The places we go are amazing and it’s another one of my “love to do” things.
I like to go to special and unusual gardens like Upwey Wishing Well, Dorset, Burrow Farm gardens in Devon. And Chalice Well gardens in Somerset.
Incidentally, some are just a stone’s throw away from my favourite farm shop. (But we won’t mention that.)
Clive has amassed a vast library of the places we’ve been to.
He spends hours choosing the best photos from our visits, before he shows them to me.
Then I choose the ones I want you to enjoy.
I even use them in my ecotherapy so they have a double whammy effect…
I love it when I see the reaction on people faces when I use the photos to help them get rid of their anxiety.
I’m here to help you change your life for good.Maria Morris
